Tooth abscess (ie. infection) is a painful condition for your pet.

- Tooth fractures or abrasive wear of the tooth can allow bacteria to enter the pulp which leads to infection/abscess.

Few pets will show symptoms of oral pain (they adapt) but many will show a marked improvement in behavior after the affected tooth is treated. Dental x-rays are needed to make a diagnosis.
